Dear Liberty Members,

It doesn’t seem possible that almost a year has slipped by since we were at Lake

Junaluska, North Carolina for our last Liberty Summer Family conference. I was thinking that with all that is happening in our country this would be a good time to get away! We as Pastor’s and leaders need some down time to renew our perspective on life, ministry, and our churches. This is what every summer conference does for me.

If you’ve never been to Lake Junaluska you owe yourself a vacation. It’s a beautiful retreat center. The old classic, restored hotel that we stay in is perfect for our group and purposes. And you just can’t improve on the Smoky Mountains for scenery.

Jonathan Newman, worship leader at Liberty Church Birmingham, and Lynn Deshazo will lead the worship this summer. Jonathan and Lynn did a great job last year and I was delighted when they agreed to lead again.

Brooke Hurt from Texas will teach our children. She will oversee our nursery with quality child care from the nearby New Covenant Church, in Clyde NC.

Brandon Harvey, youth pastor at Charity Chapel, Pensacola, FL, will lead the youth

ministry. Brandon is a seasoned youth leader with much youth camp savvy. Don’t miss this opportunity for your teens.

In keeping with our desire to foster friendships and fellowship, we have a number of things planned: Monday evening- Welcome Reception; Tuesday all day- Family time; Tuesday evening-Game Night (bring your favorite games!); Wednesday evening- Ice Cream social.

Brandon Harvey will again oversee our Golf tournament on Tuesday. However, this year he will need for you to sign up by June 13th either by email or phone. See insert for more info.

Matthew Barnett from the LA Dream Center will minister Tuesday evening and

Wednesday morning. He will challenge us about impacting our cities for Christ! We will have other anointed speakers that will minister as well as great relevant workshop speakers. As something new this year, we are doing the workshops on Wednesday evening. This entire ministry time is in keeping with our purpose of providing continued training for our members.

So, this is going to be an action packed summer conference. Please begin to plan now to join us. Don’t let the US economy keep you from coming- you belong to the Kingdom of God and it suffers from no recession! Our God is able to supply your every need in Christ Jesus. See you this summer!!!
